Dr Christopher Warton

Chairman of the Board of Directors

Chris Warton is a medical doctor, anatomist and senior lecturer at the health sciences faculty at UCT Medical School. He, his wife and five of their six children have studied at BI. Chris is a founding board member of John Wycliffe Christian School in Cape Town.

Mr Shaun Courtney

Board Member

Shaun received his MSc (Ocean and Atmosphere Science) and an MInd Admin from UCT. He is a technical director of an Internet Service Provider, and is married with eight children.

Mr Sydney Europa

Board Member

Sydney is currently the Deputy Principal of a Primary School and has been in education since 1979. He is also a patron of the John Wycliffe Christian School. He is married with three children.

Mr Geoff Jacobs

Board Member

Geoff holds BA, HDE and B Ed degrees from the University of Cape Town, as well as a BA (Hons) from UNISA, an MA from the University of Wisconsin and an MBA from UCT’s Graduate School of Business. He is the Human Resources Executive for the AP Moller-Maersk group in South Africa. Geoff has spent 20 years as a lay preacher in the Methodist church and is married with two children.

Mr Paul Theodosiou

Board Member

Paul is a chartered accountant and former partner in auditing firm KPMG. In 2001, with support from Nedbank and Sanlam, he was involved in the formation of Acucap, a property company, and in 2002 the company was listed on the JSE. Paul has been managing director of the company since its formation. He serves on the property portfolio of the Bible Institute and is also involved in fund raising. He is married with two children.

Rev Hilmar von Fintel

Board Member

Hilmar received a BSc Eng (Mech) at UCT before graduating with an LTh from the Bible Institute. He is currently the pastor of Monte Vista Presbyterian and Reformed Church. He is married to Rose and they have two children.

Mr Bobby Bertrand

Trustee

Bobby is an attorney and Director of Bowman Gilfillan Inc. A member of the Cape Law Society, he lives in Cape Town and attends Tokai Community Church.

Mr John Earle

Trustee

John has recently retired as Head of the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. He was the former Moderator and Chief Examiner for the JMB and IEB. He is also the author and co-author of many textbooks. He has also served on the Board of the Baptist Theological College in Johannesburg.

Prof Brian Gardner

Trustee

Brian was a BI student in 1964. He was Professor of accounting at Fort Hare, UPE until his retirement. He serves as an elder in Meadowridge Baptist Church in Cape Town.
